As a busy professional, it can be difficult to navigate your workload without sacrificing your health.

Here are 7 things I do for my health that helped me lose 15 pounds after my first year in an office job (and maintain it for the last four years).

1. Eat protein at every meal.

One or two palm-size portions.

It helps keep you satiated, protects against muscle loss, and helps with muscle gain and recovery.

2. Eat 4 to 5 servings of fruits & veggies.

Only 1 in 10 Americans eat the recommended 4 to 5 servings a day.

They’re leaving benefits on the table:

  • Source of vitamins & minerals
  • Better health outcomes
  • Better weight maintenance
  • Decreased risk of certain diseases
  • Improved digestion.

This may be the single most underrated “biohack.”

3. Follow a meal plan.

My meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner — with one snack between lunch and dinner.

The body is always looking for homeostasis.

Avoid cravings and mindless eating by folllowing a meal plan you can stick to.

4. Walk.

On calls, before work, after work, and after meals.

5. Resistance train thrice per week.

For 30–45 minutes before, between, or after work.

  • Improves focus and cognitive function.
  • Boosts confidence.
  • Boosts metabolism.
  • Decreases anxiety and depression.
  • Decreases risk of dementia.
  • It helps you look good naked.

6. Use Oura Ring to track my sleep.

As someone prone to burnout, having objective data helps me know when to take it easy.

It has helped my sleep tremendously.
